Hamster Kombat (HMSTR), a mobile play-to-earn game hosted on Telegram, received a significant boost from Binance. The exchange announced the highly anticipated secret airdrop event alongside launching a Mega Campaign for the game. This development marks another significant step for Hamster Kombat as it grows in popularity within the crypto gaming space.
Binance’s mega campaign for Hamster Kombat
Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange, launched its Hamster Kombat Mega Campaign, revealing a $30,000 HMSTR token voucher reward pool. Users must complete specific tasks to secure a share of the reward pool and participate. The campaign will run until September 25, 2024, and the exchange plans to list the HMSTR token on September 26 at 12:00 (UTC), making Binance the first exchange to list the token.
As part of its token generation event (TGE), Hamster Kombat also locked in token distribution for Season 1, with over 300 million active users. However, its anti-cheating measures resulted in many players being disqualified for allegedly cheating. The game’s first season recently concluded, and Hamster Kombat has entered its Interlude Season.
The airdrop farming opportunity
Binance added Hamster Kombat to its launch pool, allowing users to stake their BNB and FDUSD tokens to farm HMSTR tokens. This farming event, which began on September 19, allows participants to earn a portion of 3 billion HMSTR tokens, representing 3% of the total token supply. The farming pool is divided into 85% (2.55 billion HMSTR) for the BNB pool and 15% (450 million HMSTR) for the FDUSD pool.
To ensure fairness, Binance implemented hourly hard caps for both pools. The BNB pool has a cap of 1.5 million HMSTR per hour, while the FDUSD pool is capped at 267,000 HMSTR per hour. This token farming event is part of the broader build-up to the official listing of the HMSTR token.
Outrage over Hamster kombat’s airdrop disqualification
The secret airdrop for Season 1 sparked outrage within the Hamster Kombat community. Approximately 63% of players were disqualified, with many citing missing in-game keys as the cause. Initially, players were told the keys were unnecessary for airdrop eligibility, but later, it became clear that collecting them was crucial. This last-minute requirement left many feeling misled.
Players who had focused on building their Points Per Hour (PPH) expressed frustration, believing the key requirement undermined their efforts. The sudden disqualification, after months of gameplay, left many comparing it to running a marathon only to be disqualified at the finish line.
Hamster kombat’s interlude season begins
While the airdrop controversy continues, Hamster Kombat announced the start of its Interlude Season. The game’s developers explained that this season will act as a warm-up before the launch of Season 2, allowing users to farm diamonds.
These diamonds will provide an advantage in the upcoming season, incentivizing players to participate in the current phase. With the upcoming airdrop and token listing on Binance, Hamster Kombat is preparing for the next major step in its evolution.
