Ethereum drops as ETFs see outflows
Bitcoin is trading ~36% below its own $126,080 peak set in October 2025. Late October 24, Ether’s market cap was about $286 billion. US spot ether exchange-traded funds registered net outflows of $110.6 million on October 22, data from Farside showed. BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust, ETHA, saw $75.5 million lost of that total. Fidelity’s FETH gained $2.4 million.
On the same day, BlackRock’s ETHB lost $17.2 million. Grayscale’s ETHE lost $9.6 million, while its Ethereum Staking Mini ETF lost $10.7 million. The exit on October 22 followed $14.9 million in inflows on October 21. Grayscale’s staking mini fund saw inflows of $28.1 million on Oct. 21, while FETH took in $13 million, with ETHA shedding $29.3 million. Five successive sessions of outflows from Oct. 14 to 20 drained $388.9 million from the funds, while the seven sessions through Oct. 22 cost $484.6 million.
$129.5 million left on Oct. 14, the heaviest day of that run. October 19 added $103.3 million more. The October 23 tally showed net inflows of $4.4 million, but the ETHV fund’s figure was still absent. According to Cryptopolitan, Ethereum ETFs experienced an outflow of $1.08 billion by October 21, marking the largest monthly outflow in 2026. The outflows erased ~$832 million of inflows from September, leaving net inflows for the year-to-date at about $485 million.
October was the worst month for the funds since November 2025. Total net assets stood at $14.98 billion as of Oct. 20, or 5.01% of the market value of ether. Bitcoin ETFs bled only ~$67m in the same October period. They still had net inflows of ~$809 million in 2026. A six-session streak that began on September 29 sapped ~$408 million, and ETHA alone lost $201.89 million on October 6.
