The DOJ’s Seizure of a fake crypto domain has revealed a massive fraud linked to the Tai Chang compound in Burma.
The agency announced that tickmilleas.com had been closed following an investigation that verified it was used to defraud Americans through deceptive investment instruments and mobile applications associated with scams.
The authorities said the empire was run from a Tai Chang estate, also known as Casino Kosai, located in Kyaukhat. The site was designed to look like a real trade site and steered the victims through the fake deposits and falsified returns on investment. The authorities indicated that the platform had shown fake balances to keep the victims involved and multiply their losses.
Fraud network linked with specified Burmese organizations
DOJ affirmed that Tai Chang is connected to Trans Asia International Holding Group Thailand Company Limited and the Democratic Karen Benevolent Army. The Treasury Department on November 12 appointed both as specifically designated nationals. The name was assigned after traces of connections to Chinese organized crime and the expansion of local scam centers were observed.
According to investigators, FBI reports indicated that the victims were taken on a tour of fraudulent trades and assured high returns. There were several victims of the agency in the past month alone, despite the domain having been registered only at the beginning of November 2025. Now, a seizure notice can be seen on the site, and further activity based on CIF and money laundering is prevented.
The affidavit showed that the domain directed users to download related applications from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Both companies were notified, and the FBI took down a number of the apps. Another 2,000 or so social media accounts linked to the Tai Chang operation were also removed by Meta.
Victims attacked over social sites
According to the DOJ, there was an increase in CIF schemes, which often began with surprising messages on social media, texting services, or dating applications. The scheme involves criminals establishing online connections with the victims and convincing them to invest in false cryptocurrency platforms. The IC3 center of the FBI registered more than 41,000 related complaints in 2024, with the loss estimated at 5.8 billion.
The domain seizure occurred less than three weeks after the government introduced the Scam Center Strike Force. Two other domains that the Tai Chang compound has been using to conduct similar schemes have also been confiscated by the agency.
Interpol sheds light on increasing scam compounds
Interpol had advised that crypto fraud remains at the heart of broadening rogue compounds. A report by the latest has indicated that victims are moved under the guise of employment opportunities and made to commit online fraud. These activities include voice phishing, romance, and crypto investment fraud.
The report alleged that criminal gangs utilize high-tech instruments to conceal their work and make extremely flexible transnational operations. Interpol observed that the network facilitates scam centers to grow fast and target globally.
The DOJ’s proceeding is evidence of mounting pressure on organized scam groups as agencies strive to shut down fraudulent sites and compensate victims.
