Cardano (ADA), the 8th largest cryptocurrency as per total market cap, has been actively looking for the prospect and areas to improve its blockchain. Charles Hoskinson, Cardano Founder, has revealed the future agenda of upgrade in Cardano Project. During an AMA (Ask-me-anything) session on Youtube, Charles confirmed that safeguarding the Cardano blockchain from Quantum attacks is at the top of the list of future upgrades.
Cardano blockchain is one of the leading smart contract platforms. Founded back in 2017, Cardano has gained prominence among rival crypto platforms such as Ethereum and Solana. Despite having a taper-proof system, the blockchain is not entirely immune to the Quantum attacks; in other words, they are ‘Quantum-resistant.’
Quantum attacks are an attempt to breach the security algorithm of the blockchain network. With the rapid growth of Quantum computers, every blockchain is vulnerable to such potential attacks that can easily break the current cryptographic algorithms of the blockchain network.
Cardano’s Founder asserted the requirements of tackling this futuristic problem that can undermine blockchain security. Along with making Cardano ‘Quantum Safe’, Charles Hoskinson also revealed key upgrades in the future. The merger of Minotaur protocol with Omega is one of them.
ADA, the native token of Cardano, has witnessed a massive decline lately, along with Bitcoin and other major cryptos. Unlike top cryptocurrencies, ADA is still struggling to catch up above $1.
