Money market protocol ZkLend recently suffered a breach, leading the protocol to pause withdrawals on the platform. In a recent post on X, the platform announced that it had been hacked.
After the hack, the protocol left a message on the ETH Zend token deployer for the hacker, urging him to return 90% and keep 10% of the funds. The developer said that the hackers would have to return 3,300 ETH to the protocol.
ZkLend to treat hack as a Whitehat incident
According to the statement by the developers, they are prepared to treat the incident as a whitehat incident, meaning that the criminal will not be protected. “Upon receiving the transfer, we agree to release from any liability regarding the attack,” it said.
The team mentioned that the hacker had a deadline of February 14 at 0:00 UTC, as it will take legal action after the deadline. In another statement, the team mentioned that it is actively taking steps to uncover the identity of the hacker and trace the whereabouts of the funds.
