Binance is preparing to exit Bitcoin mining pool operations as the exchange shifts its focus toward other services.

The decision will end several mining products and require users to move their operations elsewhere.

The closure follows a decline in Binance Pool’s share of Bitcoin’s total network hashrate. Meanwhile, the exchange continues expanding its artificial intelligence tools and traditional financial trading services.

Binance confirms November 10 shutdown of Bitcoin mining services

Binance announced on October 13 that it will shut down Binance Pool on November 10, 2026, at 07:00 UTC. The closure covers Cloud Mining, Pool Savings, Transaction Accelerator, Stratum connections, APIs, and email and Telegram alerts.

According to Binance, the platform will stop accepting, processing, or crediting mining shares and hashrate submissions after the deadline.

The exchange instructed miners to switch providers and close their Pool Savings accounts before operations end. Binance will process outstanding rewards and refunds under existing product terms, subject to compliance checks.

Users can access their transaction histories until November 24 at 07:00 UTC. Binance attributed the decision to a broader product review without disclosing its financial considerations.

Binance pool market share falls below 1% as mining competition grows

Binance launched its Bitcoin mining pool in April 2020, offering miners a Full Pay-Per-Share payment model.

Hashrate Index ranked Binance Pool ninth on December 31, 2025, with 26 EH/s and a 2.3% market share.

However, October 14 data placed the pool eleventh, recording approximately 9.1 EH/s and a 0.85% share. Bitcoin’s total network hashrate stood near 1,013 EH/s.

The figures cover different measurement periods and do not establish a continuous performance trend.

Miners can redirect their equipment toward alternative pools without leaving Bitcoin’s network. However, the transition could increase mining concentration among larger operators.

Foundry USA accounted for approximately 25% of recently mined blocks, while AntPool represented around 22%. Both could gain additional share if displaced miners join their operations.

Meanwhile, Luxor estimated September’s hash price at $39.33 per PH/s daily, reflecting broader mining economics rather than Binance Pool’s profitability.

Binance expands AI tools and traditional asset trading

The mining shutdown comes as Binance expands its presence across artificial intelligence and traditional financial markets.

On October 12, Binance introduced a free AI market assistant following beta testing involving approximately 150,000 users. The assistant offers market guidance without executing autonomous trades.

The exchange also entered U.S. equities through Nest Trading and outlined physically settled options covering over 1,000 American stocks and ETFs.

According to The Block, Binance’s traditional-finance perpetual futures volume increased from $29.5 billion in January to $433.4 billion in August.

Binance held 25.3% of Bitcoin liquidity across surveyed exchanges. CoinGecko estimated traditional-asset trading reached $1.45 trillion across six crypto exchanges during the first half of 2026.

Meanwhile, Perception found that one in eight third-quarter Bitcoin mentions referenced AI, compared with one in 37 during 2022.

Some miners have pursued AI data centers using existing power infrastructure. Despite Bitcoin gaining 43% during the quarter, five miners with major AI deals lost 30%, with their shares tracking Nvidia more closely.

The post Binance to shut down Bitcoin mining pool on November 10 as focus shifts first appeared on Coinfea.

Binance has invested $100 million in Circle while entering a separate five-year agreement to promote the company’s USDC stablecoin.

The deal gives Binance an equity stake in Circle and creates a commercial arrangement tied to USDC balances on its platform.

Binance also faces restrictions on selling or transferring the shares for up to two years. The agreements deepen a partnership between two major players in the crypto market.

Binance buys 1.23 million Circle shares

An SEC filing shows that Binance received 1,237,011 Class A Circle shares through a private placement that closed on September 17. Binance paid $80.84 per share, putting the total investment of about $100 million.

Circle priced the shares below its market price when the transaction closed. However, neither Circle nor the filing disclosed the size of the discount.

The shares came through an unregistered private placement. As a result, Binance cannot resell them unless Circle registers the shares or another exemption applies.

Binance also agreed to a two-year lockup on the Circle stock. During that period, it cannot sell, transfer, pledge, or hedge the shares under the agreement.

The restrictions can end earlier if Binance terminates the commercial agreement under certain conditions. Binance can also transfer the shares to its affiliates.

Other exceptions cover court orders and legal requirements. A board-approved takeover can also proceed under the agreement. Meanwhile, Binance retains normal shareholder rights, including voting rights.

Circle received $100 million in cash from the share sale. The company will also pay Binance for promoting USDC across its platform.

Circle pays Binance to promote USDC

The five-year commercial agreement links Binance’s compensation to USDC held through its Modular Smart Contract Wallet service.

Under the deal, Circle will pay Binance a monthly fee based on a percentage of the USDC balance held through the service. In return, Binance will carry out marketing and promotional activities for USDC.

Either company can terminate the agreement early if certain conditions occur. However, the SEC filing does not disclose those conditions.

The deal also gives Binance exposure to Circle’s stock. CRCL traded in the mid-$80s when the transaction closed on September 17. It later climbed to $94.49 by September 21.

At that price, Binance’s 1,237,011 shares would have been worth about $116.9 million. However, the two-year lockup prevents Binance from immediately realizing that paper gain.

Circle’s partnership with Binance also expands an arrangement that began in late 2024. The latest agreement replaces earlier deals signed in November 2024 and August 2025.

The original partnership was announced in December 2024 during Abu Dhabi Finance Week. Binance said then that it would offer USDC across its products and hold USDC in its corporate treasury.

The latest agreement comes as stablecoin competition continues across crypto markets. Regulatory changes in Europe have also created challenges for USDT, while USDC has expanded its presence among regulated market participants.

The post Binance invests $100M in Circle, signs deal to promote USDC first appeared on Coinfea.

SanDisk (SNDK) perp contract on Binance has surpassed two of the largest crypto assets, Bitcoin and Ether, in trading volume. The TradFi asset SNDK attracted more than $7.38 billion in volume over the past 24 hours.

During that period, BTC and ETH saw only $6.11 billion and $4.57 billion, respectively, according to Binance market data. This wasn’t a sudden move, actually. As of August 17, SNDK was the third-biggest perp on Binance, with a 24-hour trading volume of around $3.71 billion. As of then, the stock contract carried $1.73 billion in open interest, 1.86 times SPCX’s $928 million and 3.51 times SKHX’s $493 million.

SDNK flips BTC and ETH in trading volume

SDNK pushed to a high of $1,693 earlier today before settling at $1,641 at the time of writing. The price has risen over 35% from the $1,213 low in less than two weeks. It appears that interest in stock perpetuals is beginning to overshadow that in major altcoins, at least on Binance, based on trading volume. Of all the top 10 traded perpetual contracts on Binance in the last 24 hours, half were TradFi contracts.

Following SNDK are SKHYNIX with $2.48 billion in volume, KORU at $1.84 billion, SOXL at $1.82 billion, and SPCX at $1.35 billion, according to Binance market data at the time of writing. Binance began introducing tokenized stocks in June under the bStock program, which is now the second-largest issuer of tokenized stocks by market cap, per earlier reporting by Cryptopolitan.

On August 13, bStock recorded a market cap of up to $610.6 million, or 22.1% of the entire sector, surpassing xStocks at $601.2 million. Ondo Finance led with $951.8 million and a 34.4% share.

The post Binance SDNK contract surges above BTC and ETH in trading volume first appeared on Coinfea.

Lido DAO has released a detailed overview of NEST, the automated program it is building to buy back its own LDO governance token. The program is a direct response to LDO’s token, which has lost more than 95% of its value since 2021.

The Network Economic Support Tokenomics (NEST) program is Lido DAO’s long-term solution to the growing distance between what the protocol earns and what its token is worth, which it has been warning about for months. Cryptopolitan reported that NEST is meant to run as an automated mechanism. It’s completely separate from the one-off proposal the DAO put forward in March to spend treasury funds directly on LDO. An annual revenue benchmark of $40 million (about $109,000 per day) has already been set by the company. If the protocol earns more than this baseline in a day, 50% of that extra income is sent to the NEST program to buy LDO.

Lido DAO targets $50,000 LDO per day cap

The platform mentioned that the program can only buy $50,000 worth of LDO per day, with a total annual cap of $10 million. Cryptopolitan reported that the previous system proposed by Lido’s Growth Committee would use up to 10,000 stETH from the DAO treasury, worth roughly $20 million at ether prices near $2,000, to accumulate LDO. The LDO-to-ETH price ratio was about 0.00016, representing a 70% decline from where it traded for most of the previous two years.

During that same period, the protocol’s net rewards had only dropped about 20%. The DAO also said its costs went down by 13% compared to the year before, and its fee rate increased to 6.11% from 5%. Lido holds the largest share of staked ether at around 23%. DefiLlama data also lists Lido’s total value locked near $17.8 billion against a market capitalization of roughly $252 million. Its annualized fees are around $693 million, and the annualized revenue is near $38 million.

There is barely enough on-chain liquidity to execute the plan. Only about $90,000 worth of LDO is available to buy within 2% of the current price. This means a single batch purchase of 1,000 stETH (worth roughly $2 million) would use up all available liquidity several times over, causing the price to spike sharply. To get around that, the proposal authorized buying LDO through centralized venues including Binance, OKX, Bybit, Gate, and Bitget, each offering more than $100,000 in depth, alongside on-chain routes such as CoW Swap, 1inch, and Uniswap.

The purchases are made in 1,000 stETH batches, each requiring its own governance step (an “Easy Track” motion) with a three-day objection window and a slippage cap of 3% below the reference price. The market reacted positively to the buyback scheme, with reports indicating that LDO rallied by roughly 30% in a month where it resisted a broader downturn in the DeFi market.

The post Lido DAO activates NEST buyback program to revive token performance first appeared on Coinfea.

Binance bStocks Expands Rapidly Through Exchange Distribution

Binance launched bStocks on June 11, and the product moved into second place within nine weeks. Its growth has outpaced a rival that had established distribution across several chains and platforms.

The gap between bStocks and xStocks shows how quickly rankings have changed. Less than $10 million currently separates the two products by market capitalization.

Distribution has played a role in bStocks’ expansion. The tokens trade inside the Binance application as standard USDT spot pairs, giving existing exchange users access.

A customer with funds held on Binance can buy tokenized Nvidia shares through the same process used to purchase SOL. This removes the need for bridging assets or completing a separate onboarding process.

Conversion Structure Supports Easier Access and Reversibility

The conversion process adds another layer of accessibility. Investors holding the underlying share through Nest Trading can convert that position into a bStock at a one-to-one ratio without paying a fee.

The same process also works in reverse. Holders can convert bStocks back into the underlying shares without locking assets in either direction.

The broader tokenized stock market has also expanded sharply. Its value stood at $569.76 million at the start of the year and has since risen to about $2.8 billion, representing growth of roughly 391%.

During the same period, xStocks grew by around 228%. Its market share declined because the total market expanded faster, while Binance captured a large portion of new issuance.

Issuance Rankings Reflect Minted Value Rather Than Trading

Ondo Finance follows a different operating model. It mints tokenized assets through external company interfaces, including Binance, rather than owning the venue where users access them.

Kraken offers a closer structural comparison because it owns Backed while also operating an exchange. That arrangement combines issuance and distribution under one organization, although Kraken’s user base is smaller.

Market capitalization by issuer measures how much tokenized stock has been minted, not how frequently those tokens trade. A token held in a wallet counts the same as one traded daily.

Binance entered the market with an existing account base and placed tokenized stocks directly inside that distribution network. Current data therefore shows rapid issuance growth, while trading activity remains a separate measure.

The post Binance bStocks Overtakes xStocks as Second-Largest Tokenized Stock Issuer first appeared on Coinfea.

Binance.US prediction market plans are moving forward as the exchange prepares to seek approval for an event contracts platform.

Chief Executive Stephen Gregory said during a Rare Evo panel in Las Vegas that the company expects to apply for a designated contract market license next month.

Approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission would allow Binance.US to offer regulated futures, options, and event contracts to retail customers. Crypto America host Eleanor Terrett described the filing as part of a comeback strategy focused on lower fees, product expansion, perpetuals, prediction markets, and compliance controls.

Binance.US Rebuilds After Regulatory Setbacks

Gregory took over as chief executive this year as Binance.US sought to rebuild revenue and restore its position in the crypto market. The platform has introduced near-zero trading fees and announced plans to expand into derivatives while pursuing more domestic trading activity.

Its market position weakened after 2023, when Binance Holdings reached a $4.3 billion settlement with federal agencies after admitting violations of banking laws. Former Binance chief Changpeng Zhao served four months in prison before receiving a pardon from President Donald Trump.

Zhao remains the majority owner of Binance.US and has supported its American expansion. He has maintained that his role is technical.

“We want to do much more business in the US. We want to bring a superior product into the US. We want to make the superior product offering much more accessible to the US consumer,” Zhao said.

Prediction Markets Attract More Exchange Interest

Prediction markets allow customers to trade contracts linked to real-world outcomes. Their availability in the United States has expanded following legal victories involving event contracts, drawing interest from financial firms and traders.

Binance.US would compete with Kalshi and Polymarket if it receives CFTC approval. Gemini has also obtained a license, while Coinbase has partnered with Kalshi to provide event contracts to American users.

A Binance.US spokesperson said the company aims to become the leading domestic platform for buying, trading, and earning crypto assets. The exchange is focusing on new products while adjusting its services to meet customer needs.

Robinhood Explores Crypto.com Partnership

Robinhood Markets is reportedly considering an agreement to list Crypto.com prediction contracts on its application. The Wall Street Journal reported that talks may not produce a final deal.

Robinhood currently sources event contracts from Kalshi, ForecastEx, and Rothera. Its share of Kalshi volume has declined since Rothera was added.

Trading on Robinhood exceeded 16 billion event contracts this year, compared with more than 12 billion during 2025. Kalshi chief Tarek Mansour called Robinhood a major rival in June despite their partnership.

Kalshi continues to lead the United States market. World Cup betting volume reached $27 billion, compared with $1 billion for the Super Bowl. Sports generated 80% of customer order flow across Kalshi and Polymarket during the tournament.

The post Binance.US Prediction Market Push Targets Kalshi and Polymarket first appeared on Coinfea.

BitMEX is expected to shut down after its parent company announced that the exchange will shut down on September 23, 2026, ending its 11-year run. The platform popularized the perpetual swap and 100x leverage. According to the development, users who hold accounts on BitMEX now have two months to pull their money out.

HDR Global Trading Limited, the parent company in charge of BitMEX, said its board has made the decision to permanently shut down the exchange after reviewing the business and the state of the wider crypto market. New account sign-ups stopped the same day the notice went out, and the final closure is scheduled for September 23, 2026, ending its 11-year run. BitMEX launched in 2014 under founders Arthur Hayes, Ben Delo, and Samuel Reed. It built its name on a Bitcoin perpetual contract offering up to 100x leverage, a product it invented in May 2016 that has since become the most traded product in crypto.

BitMEX to undergo a phased shutdown to help users withdraw funds

A while after it launched the product, things began to go bad for the exchange. In October 2020, the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) charged BitMEX with illegally offering commodity derivatives and failing to implement anti-money-laundering procedures. The US Department of Justice (DOJ) brought criminal charges against the founders under the Bank Secrecy Act for willfully failing to establish and maintain adequate AML and KYC programs.

All three founders stepped down shortly after the charges were filed, and BitMEX later pleaded guilty in 2024 to violating the Bank Secrecy Act and was hit with an additional $100 million fine in January 2025. Notably, President Donald Trump pardoned the co-founders in March 2025. The exchange never fully recovered its market position after the scandal. It lost its lead in the derivatives market to Binance, Bybit, and OKX. The platform had been looking for a buyer since February 2025, when it retained Broadhaven Capital Partners to run a sale process, but failed to find one.

In late June 2026, BitMEX cleared out its top ranks at once, with CEO Stephan Lutz, CFO Ina Steiner, and Chief Growth Officer Raphael Polansky all departing. Peter Wilkinson, who previously served as the firm’s global general counsel and chief operating officer, stepped into the CEO seat. According to the update, users now have two months to close positions and withdraw their funds before the deadline. Starting August 26, 2026, BitMEX will impose risk limits that block traders from opening new positions.

From that point, users can only reduce existing positions. The exchange will then force close positions gradually to wind the market down in an orderly way. Once the exchange shuts down in September, any positions still open at that moment will be liquidated on the spot. BitMEX said it takes no responsibility for losses tied to a user’s failure to exit in time. However, after the shutdown, users will still be able to log in to their accounts to check balances, review transaction history, and move funds out. All staked BMEX tokens have already been unstaked and returned to holder accounts.

KYC-verified customers who leave assets on the platform past the deadline face a monthly charge of $50 or 1% per year, whichever is larger, applied to whatever balance remains. The fee is deducted monthly and could increase over time for accounts that stay funded. BitMEX warned users to watch for scams during the wind-down, saying no priority withdrawal service exists. The company also said its reserves cover all customer liabilities, pointing to its Proof of Reserves page. CoinMarketCap data listed total exchange assets at roughly $1 billion.

The post BitMEX set to halt operations after 11 years first appeared on Coinfea.

INTERPOL revealed in a statement shared on Thursday, July 9, that a four-month operation spanning 97 countries and territories arrested 5,811 people and froze $293 million in illicit money. This sweep also reached some crypto holders as the investigators traced romance-scam profits laundered through cross-chain token swaps.

The operation, known as First Light 2026, ran from January 15 to April 30, according to INTERPOL’s statement. Its focus was social engineering, the practice of exploiting a person’s trust to extract money or account details. That category covers business email compromise, sextortion, romance, impersonation, and investment scams, along with the laundering networks that move the proceeds. INTERPOL counted more than 142,000 victims over the four months. Alongside the arrests, police blocked 31,014 bank accounts, solved 23,715 cases, identified another 15,606 suspects, and issued 99 notices and diffusions, the agency reported.

INTERPOL sheds light on its months-long operation

According to INTERPOL, to intercept money before it vanished, authorities leaned on I-GRIP, INTERPOL’s stop-payment tool that can freeze both fiat and virtual asset transfers. Crypto was at the crime scene in Thailand, where the police arrested two suspects tied to a laundering operation that fed romance-scam money into several cryptocurrencies, then used cross-chain swaps to break the trail between blockchains. One suspect, aged 20, ran a wallet that moved more than $122.5 million in ten months, according to investigators.

Crypto was also involved in other legs of the operation, one of which was in Palau, where authorities deported 22 people accused of running scam centers out of hotels, using crypto and illegal gambling sites to reach victims abroad. INTERPOL’s financial crime chief sees the pattern as a fixed feature of the trade. “Criminal syndicates exploit human psychology to manipulate their targets, and no nation can stay safe unless all countries are equipped and committed to jointly fighting back,” said Tomonobu Kaya, director of the INTERPOL Financial Crime and Anti-Corruption Centre, in the statement.

On the African continent, INTERPOL has also been active in dismantling criminal elements engaged in illicit activities that are linked to crypto. It partnered with Binance and AFRIPOL to recover $4.3 million and make over 651 arrests in an operation that spanned late 2025 to January 2026. The schemes were of varying kinds, ranging from a fake police station to a blocked wire, and not every scheme relied on tokens. Police in Eswatini arrested 82 people and seized 240 electronic devices after breaking up a network that ran illegal gambling, laundering, and impersonation scams.

The group had built a working replica of a Brazilian police station, with fake uniforms and signage, and posed as federal police on video calls to convince victims they were under investigation and should move money for “safekeeping,” according to INTERPOL. Due to the volume of digital evidence, the agency deployed a support team to help with forensics. There were cases where authorities were able to stop money mid-flight. Authorities in Singapore and Oman worked together using I-GRIP to block a $6.6 million transfer linked to a business email compromise scam aimed at a Singapore commodity trading firm.

Another one occurred in Macao, where an anti-fraud outreach campaign found a resident who was being manipulated by scammers posing as public officials. The police stepped in before the victim lost close to $372,000. INTERPOL’s June 2024 operation, which covered 61 countries, seized $257 million and arrested 3,950 suspects. First Light has run since 2014 and is funded by China’s Ministry of Public Security, with support from regional policing bodies ASEANAPOL, GCCPOL, and Europol.

The post INTERPOL docks 5,811, seizes $293 million in massive scam crackdown first appeared on Coinfea.

Binance has announced that it is halting its operations in France due to its failure to secure the MiCA license across the European Union. As a result, the exchange has currently paused all services in France, including crypto trading, and is only allowing users to withdraw their assets. Accounts owned by residents in France have now been switched into a withdrawal-only mode.

In addition, spot trading, margin trading, and other trading-related services have been disabled. On the other hand, Binance has assured customers that their funds remain safe and accessible despite the restrictions. The exchange previously served around 2 million users in France, making the country one of its largest European markets. Under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) Regulation, all crypto companies operating in the bloc must obtain a license or face regulatory penalties. Weeks before the July 1 deadline, the exchange applied for a MiCA license from France’s financial regulator, the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF).

French users urged to withdraw or switch to other crypto platforms

According to the latest reports, the exchange has failed to secure the license, just days after it was also denied a license in Greece. In its official announcement, the exchange has assured French users that their crypto assets remain protected. It also suggested moving funds to a regulated platform or a personal wallet if they plan to continue using them. Some users pulled their crypto before the July 1 deadline, but some held out for updates. At the moment, withdrawals are still allowed, but users must transfer their funds to another platform to trade.

Binance has had to halt its services in other European countries, including Poland, Italy, and Spain. Similarly, it advised users to withdraw their holdings. However, Binance’s halt opened the door for compliant rivals, allowing platforms such as Coinbase and OKX to win over its customer base before the MiCA cutoff. Coinbase launched campaigns across key European nations, including the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Poland, and Sweden, as OKX simultaneously marketed incentives to eligible customers within the European Economic Area.

At the same time, many crypto companies are setting their sights on Dubai, given that fewer than 244 of 3,000 firms have secured MiCA licenses in the EU bloc. Binance, nonetheless, remains committed to securing approval in the bloc. It remarked, “Europe remains an important market for Binance, and our commitment to a clear, fair, and harmonized MiCA framework is unchanged. We are confident we will secure a MiCA license in the coming months and will announce the relevant member state when ready.”

Binance continues to hang on amid legal tussles

For the past few years, Binance has been at the center of multiple controversies. The platform admitted guilt in 2023 to U.S. charges of breaking sanctions and anti-money-laundering rules, which prosecutors argued had turned the company into a worldwide laundering tool for bad actors. Authorities fined the company $4.3 billion, while Binance founder Changpeng Zhao pleaded guilty to a related charge and served 4 months in a California prison. He was pardoned by President Trump last November.

This year, US Justice and Treasury officials have also been probing how Iran utilized Binance to skirt sanctions. According to a Wall Street Journal report, billions of dollars in crypto transactions passed through the platform over the past two years to bankroll networks supporting Iran. Binance, however, has since pushed back against the claims, stating that it has zero tolerance for illegal activity and has built a top-tier compliance system. It has even taken legal action against the Journal for its reporting.

Meanwhile, over the past month, investors pulled more than $1.6 billion out of Binance. This included a single week where withdrawals hit $1.23 billion as users moved funds to private wallets, driving Ethereum outflows to a three-year high of 166,000 transactions. Despite this, the exchange still oversees roughly $114 billion in digital assets. Besides, the exchange has now included the Philippines in its fray. “The Philippines has always been one of the most vibrant crypto communities in the world. Let’s go!” said Binance co-CEO Richard Teng.

The post Binance suspends France operations after MiCA license issues first appeared on Coinfea.

Altcoin selling reached record highs in June as traders redirected liquidity toward narrower opportunities, leaving much of the market under pressure.

Sentiment around smaller crypto assets weakened after a year of accelerating exits, with selling pressure surpassing levels seen in the 2022 market crash and the bear market that followed.

The latest trend reflects fading patience among holders who no longer appear willing to wait years for a broad recovery.

Altcoin selling pressure reached an all-time peak in early June after a year of near-exponential capitulation. | Source: Cryptoquant

The pressure excludes Ethereum and has affected legacy tokens, some venture-backed assets, and platforms with limited fee activity.

Newer altcoin batches outperformed assets from earlier cycles, while older names struggled to regain demand.

Altcoin Selling Pressure Hits Record Levels

As of June 17, the altcoin season index stood at 49 points, placing the market in neutral territory between Bitcoin dominance and demand for other assets.

Among the top 100 cryptocurrencies, only 36 posted net gains over the previous three months, based on CoinMarketCap data.

The broader market has also moved away from narrative-driven rallies. Liquidity has concentrated in selected assets and platforms with visible activity, higher daily fees, or signs of fresh inflows. That shift has left many tokens without strong usage or liquidity support exposed to deeper selling.

Binance Altcoin Trading Volume Recovers

Despite the heavy selling, Binance recorded renewed altcoin activity in June. Altcoin markets accounted for more than 50% of total Binance trading volume in the past week, overtaking Bitcoin and Ethereum activity on the exchange.

At the same time, BTC and ETH trading on Binance slowed, showing that active altcoins still drew speculative demand. CryptoQuant data showed altcoin volumes had fallen to local lows near 30% in March before recovering. Binance remained a leading venue for altcoin trading, supported by market makers, curation, and liquidity programs tied to selected assets.

Selective Liquidity Shapes Stronger Altcoins

Altcoins connected to revenue-producing ecosystems may retain more value than weaker peers.

The Binance ecosystem continues to support BNB, while Solana has held relative stability despite recent losses.

Cardano has lagged after weak application and revenue activity, with ADA falling to $0.17, below its 2022 and 2023 bear-market levels.

Selected DeFi tokens also held gains. Hyperliquid ranked among them after recently setting records above $75. Meme-token activity slowed sharply, while many new launches remained in the “trenches” without graduating to decentralized exchange trading.

Meanwhile, trading activity shifted toward perpetual futures, including tokenized commodities and equities.

That change further weakened demand for altcoins without stronger vetting or fundamental value. The market has adjusted to mini altcoin seasons, lifting small groups of assets rather than all tokens.

Listings, liquidity pairs, and market-maker attention now separate stronger performers. Even blue-chip assets such as SOL still traded more than 70% below their record market peaks.

The post Altcoin selling reaches record highs as Binance volume shifts first appeared on Coinfea.
